This week, I have been on an adventure with a couple of Filipino friends. We’ve been talking for a while about going on a camping trip, and it is finally happening. I am writing this week’s post from inside my tent in a place called the Land Between the Lakes in southern Kentucky.
The three of us fit all our stuff and camping gear in one vehicle in a game of real-life Tetris.
We traveled northwest through Nashville and stopped in a town called Clarksville to enjoy Filipino food at Nora’s Filipino Market.
The food we ate included adobo, bicol, pork sisig, pansit, lumpia, tinola, menudo, siopao, and gobs of white rice. We felt nourished by our motherland.
On the way out of Clarksville, we stumbled upon a local establishment that caught our attention. We spent more time than we thought we would at this place and probably did not buy anything.
We took a scenic route through the farmlands of rural Kentucky.
When we arrived at our campsite, we were greeted by a serene view of a lake.
We gently unloaded our gear and set up camp.
A fire was built. We ate leftovers from Nora’s, and we enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fire.
Of course, this is just the beginning of our adventure. Next week, you will see all of the fun and beautiful stuff we got into in Part 2 of our autumn shenanigans.
Happy Fall!
